This national park, Park Presidio, at Golden Gate offers long trails and scenic views and is an unbelievable spot to watch this year’s San Francisco Marathon. Welcome to Mile 7!
It starts at Fort Point, where runners head up Long Ave and are surrounded by wonderfully smelling Eucalyptus trees , before turning right onto Lincoln Blvd. At this intersection, the view of Pilots Row and it’s multitude of one pretty home after another comes into view. These houses served as officers’ quarters for the pilots of Crissy Air Field during the 1920’s. A historic landmark in the area.
The course then takes you through the Golden Gate Bridge Welcome Center and across the Golden Gate you go!
Mile 7 is certainly historic and for new visitors to the area, some time pre or post race learning about this former army housing is a must! For now, let’s get onto Mile 8 where there is so much to explore on the course! See the Mile 7 video below and then click Next Mile!
